If I suspend my netbook to RAM, it is because I want to quickly turn it off and on, rather than waiting the 65-70 seconds it takes to go from power off to a usable desktop. I do NOT want to faff about typing in a password each time I restore from RAM, because that would ruin the whole "quickly on" bit.
So, to do this, I used:
gconf-editorto change the following setting:
/apps/gnome-power-manager/lock/suspendto false by unchecking it. Job done.
Thanks for saving me a ton of time. This is exactly what I was looking for!
